Felicidad Duce, the Fashion School of LCI Barcelona, was born in 1928 and has been training the new generations of designers for more than 90 years. From its classrooms have come professionals such as Josep Font, Juan Vidal, María Escoté, Celia Vela, Roberto Etxeberria, Krizia Robustella, Manuel Bolaño and a long etcetera of names that has recently been completed with Domingo Rodríguez (Dominnico), the young designer who she has already dressed artists such as Rosalía, Lady Gaga or the Hadid sisters. All of them, both the oldest and newcomers, have ended up working in large companies in the industry or succeeding with their own brands.
For students of the Official Superior Title in Fashion Design taught by LCI Barcelona, their first experience as designers comes in the last year of the race. Each year, the School organizes a large parade in which the collections created by the students themselves are presented. This talent show is usually organized in emblematic places in Barcelona (the last edition was held in the Design Museum) and brings together teachers, family and friends of the students in a very special day that represents its official premiere as fashion designers.
Fashion and environment should go hand in hand. Therefore, one of the great novelties of the last course was B-SEArcular, the circular economy initiative that LCI Barcelona led with Epson and Seaqual. Three of the collections that could be seen in the last parade were made from a fabric obtained from plastics recovered from the Mediterranean. The resulting garments, totally organic, will be recycled at the end of their useful life to close the circle of this sustainable project.
