The Department of Education offers 532 places for Secondary Education students to study English, French and German abroad.
The Department of Education, also for the summer of 2024, will organize 532 stays for language courses in Germany, France, Ireland and the United Kingdom, aimed at students in the 3rd and 4th years of secondary school and the first and second years of high school. Two-week stays will be offered, and the Department of Education has allocated 1,033,571 euros to finance them. The Order calling for these stays was approved in the last session of the Governing Council, on October 10, Tuesday.
The application period will be open from October 24 to November 23, inclusive.
The conditions to be fulfilled by the students who want to get one of these 532 places are as follows:
z Having obtained a grade of at least 7 points in the chosen language or languages (English, French or German) in the previous academic year.
z Having obtained 16 or more points in the sum of the average grade of the previous school year and the grade received in the selected language.
z The student must have studied the language corresponding to the place applied for in the previous two academic years.
z The student must be at least 19 years old in 2024.
For the allocation of places, both the level of education of the student who applied (secondary or high school) and also the economic situation of his family (intervals 1 and 2) are taken into account.
In the first period, students who received a scholarship in the previous academic year are taken into account, and in the second period, students who did not receive a scholarship are taken into account. Students who have been assigned a place must make the appropriate payment. Those in the first range will have to pay 140 euros, and those in the second range 560 euros.
