It is one of the university degrees with the most job opportunities, but its demand has been falling over the years.
At a time when the majority of students have begun their training, many are sure to have doubts about whether they have chosen well or if this option will give them enough facilities to be able to do so. And choosing the studies that will shape your professional future is one of the most complicated decisions. We live in a very changing labor market; Therefore, studying is key when it comes to positioning yourself in order to qualify for a good job. In fact, two of the most important reasons when choosing studies are, obviously, the vocation for that branch and the economic issue. And, for these same reasons, more and more young people are choosing to pursue Vocational Training instead of a university degree. In this sense, all those latecomers who have not yet registered are in luck. And there are still vacancies in some grades with a high job insertion and a fairly high salary.
Specifically, we are talking about the Medium Level Professional Training cycle in Olive Oil and Wines, which is taught at the Escuela de la Vid center. In this case, there are still free places. A truly surprising fact considering that 100% of its graduates find work during the first year after finishing their studies.
This is one of the best examples of those university courses ‘marginalized’ by students in recent years and with a high percentage of job placement. This cycle develops its activity in the industry of production and packaging of olive oils, wines and other beverages, in companies with traditional or advanced technology.
The same happens with the Higher Degree in Optics, with 88% of job placement and a third of vacant positions; or with the Higher Degree in Industrial Mechatronics, which has a demand for graduates by companies of 78% and has more than fifty vacancies.
This low rate of students in these cycles may be due to different reasons. On the one hand and the most important, ignorance. And there are many people who are unaware of the existence of these studies, as well as the positions that can be accessed with these qualifications. In fact, many associate this career with having fewer job opportunities and therefore end up choosing other careers. And the second is that there are students who do not dare to do them because of their great difficulty.
