ANECDOTE CHAMPIONSHIP
The first volunteer story competition. The Basque Youth Council is pleased to present the first volunteering anecdotes competition, a unique opportunity for all young volunteers to share their experiences and funny, educational and entertaining stories. Here are the basics of participating in this competition:
Contest theme:
Stories should relate to volunteering experiences and their impact on the lives of individuals and communities.
- Conditions for participation:
Participants must be residents of Bizkaia. Participants must be between 16 and 30 years old.
- Awards:
The award ceremony will take place at VoluntariotzaFest, on December 1, at 8:00 p.m., in Bilbao.
There will be three award categories:
Funniest story: Weekend in the Basque Country.
The most educational anecdote: A weekend in the Basque Country.
The audience’s favorite anecdote (will be voted on by liking the @Gaztekontseilua Instagram account): Two tickets to the PortAventura park.
All participants (if they are volunteers) can get a free ticket to VoluntariotzaFest.
- Delivery time:
The period for sending anecdotes will be from November 6, 2023 to November 20, 2023.
- Anecdotes format:
Anecdotes can be sent through a short video or in writing. Each participant can submit only one anecdote. About to be sent in writing, in PDF format, with Arial font, size 12. It should be a minimum of 50 words and a maximum of 200 words. When sending a video, it must be a maximum of one minute long. Format, “MP4”.
The anecdote must have a title, which will be presented at the beginning of the video or text. It can be written in Basque or Spanish. Feel free to do it in Basque!
Confidentiality: The anonymity of the people mentioned in the anecdotes must be respected.
Submitting an anecdote:
Anecdotes must be sent by e-mail to the address educación@egk.eus with the subject “Anecdote Tournament – Names and Surnames”. Email the PDF document or MP4 video and complete the registration questionnaire. Click here to get it.
- Anecdotes jury and voting:
The jury will be formed by the technical team of the Basque Youth Council.
The jury will choose the 10 best anecdotes that will have the chance to become the public’s favourites. Voting for the “Public’s Favorite” category will be done through likes through stories featured on Instagram, on the @gaztekontseilua account. The winner of the “funny and educational” anecdote will be decided by the jury.
Voting will begin on November 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. and will end on November 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
The jury’s decision will be unanswerable and the jury will resolve any dispute that does not appear on the merits. Anecdotes that do not meet the established presentation requirements (format and delivery method) will not be accepted. Participation in the competition implies acceptance of the rules.
