Rivers of ink flow about the impact that digital transformation will have on the work of the future. What new trades will come with robots and artificial intelligence? Which ones will disappear? How many hours will we work? In what spaces will we do it?

Although the digital transformation has only just begun, many of these changes are already here and from MONDRAGON, they help us to read some of the signs.

The following is an analysis of job offers published by MONDRAGON cooperatives on the MONDRAGON People (https://www.mondragon-corporation.com/people/) employment portal between January and April 2021. This portal does not reflect the entire labor market. Many of the companies that publish their offers on this portal have a strong industrial bias and are leaders in their digital transformation. In any case, they give us interesting clues about the real demand for employment in advanced industry.

In the four-month period analyzed, each day there were in MONDRAGON People an average of 140 job offers and another 25 dual offers that alternate study and work. Focusing on job offers, the five most demanded types of positions are as follows:

That is, the sale of complex products and services that require high customization to the customer. These are mixed profiles that combine a strong technical mastery with capabilities to understand the business and customer needs and propose a tailor-made solution.

Although 76% of MONDRAGON People’s job offers have their place of work in the Basque Country, the future also offers possibilities to travel and get to know other realities. 14% of the offers are located in Madrid, Catalonia or other Spanish cities such as Santander and 10% of the offers are international; with destinations such as Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Mexico and Brazil.
