The application period began on September 22 and will last until October 22, through the form enabled on the website www.berriup.com.
BerriUp, which according to the annual report of the Funcas foundation remains the best accelerator since 2021 with its national acceleration program, and Rural Bank, a leading financial entity with a presence in Euskadi, Navarra and Rioja, have joined again in the launch of the third joint call for the selection and acceleration of startups to launch. Furthermore, this new call has the collaboration of the University of Deusto. For more than 12 years, this university has had a unit to promote entrepreneurship and innovation: Deusto Emprende.
The objective is to attract new innovative projects in the seed and pre-seed phase and, although this time the call is focused on Bizkaia, it is also open to projects and startups from other territories. The application period began on September 22, and will last until next Sunday, October 22, through the form enabled on each collaborator’s website.
As in previous calls, the proposals selected in this acceleration program will have the support of mentors and experts who will guide each project on topics and areas of special importance to provide the promoters with the necessary knowledge to launch their new project. The acceleration process will last 16 weeks, and the initiatives will have different advantages, such as the possibility of obtaining specialized financing, both in the form of capital and traditional financing, training resources and spaces to develop their ideas.
This joint initiative is part of one of the main axes supported by Rural Kutxa Social Bank Actions, which is the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation. For Gonzalo Soto, head of the Start Line for Entrepreneurs at Rural Kutxa Bank, “we are sure that collaboration between the different actors related to entrepreneurship is of great importance in this type of calls, creating a training course of special interest for projects, financing and related services”.
In the words of Garbiñe Henry, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Deusto, “For Deusto, the launch of this call, in collaboration with agents such as Rural Kutxa Bank and BerriUp, reflects our commitment to promoting entrepreneurial culture, innovation and support for entrepreneurial people. The winning projects will have access to coworking services, training, support and all Deusto Emprenda activities, thus strengthening their entrepreneurial careers.”
Patricia Casado, director of BerriUp, states: “We launched this call together with Rural Kutxa Bank the University of Deusto to discover the best projects. Our idea is to attract you to train with our program and help you grow. On this occasion, we have made participation more flexible in terms of EASO VC funds, and the investment of each project that exceeds our acceleration program, which remains among the top positions in the national ranking, will be specifically analyzed.”
When the deadline for submitting proposals ends, a specialized jury will examine and select the finalist projects, which must present their initiative at an event to be held in the city of Bilbao on November 24.
