The students of the Master in Marketing and Corporate Communication at the San Jorge University have completed the Solidarity marathon of advice on public relations and communication with a session in which they presented a report with their proposals to the Association for Research on motor impairment (AIDIMO), Red Madre Aragón, the Association of Amputees and/or agenesis (ADAMPI) and the College Under Aragon.
This activity began on 1 February when the entities presented their communicative needs to the students. Since then, students have been working to present a communication proposal that covers their requests.
Silvia Tudela and Andrea Pardos, students of the master who collaborated with AIDIMO, explained that this type of activities serve to work in a real environment. “It makes you see reality closely and realize that something for you is obvious when you see it in theory, for associations is not and need to solve that need,” Silvia explained. Also, for companies it was a positive experience as well.
Isabel Villarroya, physiotherapist and member of the association, said that the students have had “a degree of involvement very high and have been very concerned.” Olga Garcia, head of administration, explained that for this reason “the work has been very good and has adapted to the needs and resources available” so they will be able to carry out “most of the actions”.
With the association of Amputees and/or with agenesis, the work carried out crossed the boundaries of the formative and the students were involved on a personal level. Nuria Rivas, President of the association, said that they have noticed that the students have been put in their place and “their intention has been to help beyond the note”.
“We felt that they were willing that what they reflected not only serve them, the work and their note, but especially for the entity,” he said. This was expressed by the pupil Jesús Padilla, who said that the activity has been “an opportunity to help”.
“When you study, you do not think that the function from communication can help a group, so it has been very gratifying because you look developed on a professional and personal level,” he said. This involvement has made it possible for ADAMPI to be able to implement the students ‘ proposals. Miriam Castillo, the association’s psychologist, thanked them for doing “such a good job” taking into account “the limited means” that the organization has.
Pilar Huerta, President Red Madre Aragón, explained that the activity has helped them to confirm some “communicative errors” that they had detected in their association and Carolina Pamplona, member of the Organization, commented that it has forced them to “think, see the failures and Detect where you have to influence. ” María Pérez, a student of the group that worked with Red Madre, said that she has found “interesting” the work that they have had to develop.
Also, the student Inés Gracia Herrer, who worked with the school under Aragon, said she loved it because it involves “facing a real client.” “It is an activity that lowers you to Earth because with a budget ajutado and people who can devote to communication for a limited time you have to ask what to do with it,” she concluded.
