Xiaomi Smart Band 8 on its way to Europe

digital-02-B

Xiaomi’s most anticipated bracelet is already on its way to Europe. A few days ago, Xiaomi held one of its most important events in China, where in addition to the new foldable Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, its large Pad 6 Max tablet and the long-awaited Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro wristband were revealed. Before these devices, the Chinese company had already introduced the basic version of this bracelet in China. At the moment both models have not arrived in our country and therefore we do not know what will be its final price in stores. But now the Chinese bracelet has been spotted in a store, which could tell what its final price would be.

  • A cheaper bracelet?

Based on what a store in Poland shows, we can assume that the new bracelet has a price of 49.99 euros. Since the price of this bracelet when it was launched in Spain was 59.99 euros, if we take this leak into account, it would cost 10 euros less. Now, as has happened before, this could be a sham of the store, falsely displaying the wristband with a completely imaginary price and no solid commercial basis.

Going now to the page of this store where the bracelet is located, we will see that the price is no longer shown, but it shows that it is on pre-sale without specifying. But what we still see is that there is a release date for the bracelet. This would start shipping to users on October 4th exactly, so the Chinese company’s most anticipated wristband could be unveiled across Europe on that same day, and another thing is at what price it does it. It doesn’t look like it will be seen for 49.99 euros, but at least for those 59.99 euros.

But it would be the opposite, which would certainly be a joy for everyone, and perhaps Xiaomi should not have left, to return to a path, to adjusted prices. Let’s remember that the first generation of Xiaomi Smart Bands had a price of only 15 or 20 euros, which has obviously been far from it. It must be said in Xiaomi’s defense, however, that the performance of the bracelet has improved significantly.

And this model has OLED screens and sensors that we couldn’t even imagine a few years ago. Of course, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro can also arrive at the same time, in October, and at a price of around 100 euros like the previous one, although a narrower price should not be ruled out, maybe lower than 90. Although this bracelet is worth it, as it integrates GPS connectivity, something common in high-end devices.

We will clarify the doubts in a few weeks, because that October date is quite good for the release of this bracelet. Will have to keep an eye out to see if any other store accidentally re-releases the old Xiaomi wristbands.

  • Spectacular descent

While everyone on the rest of the planet is eagerly waiting for the eighth generation of the Xiaomi Mi Band to arrive in our territories, the Asian giant dares to present the Pro model of its latest creation to society. But now we’re going to focus on the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 that can be yours for €37 on AliExpress.

One of the smart wristbands on the market could be yours, with 8 editions, proving that you can have an advanced gadget on your wrist for little money. The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 has an official price of 59.99 euros, although you can also get it for 44 euros on Miravia.

This Smart Band 8 is back for another year with new features. Starting with the design, this eighth generation brings new official straps in different materials and finishes. The Mi Band 8 weighs 27 grams including the official silicone strap and has seen its display grow to 1.62 inches. In addition, it is resistant to water and dust, and can be immersed in 1.5 meters of water for half an hour.

Now the elongated Amoled screen has a resolution of 192 x 490 pixels (326 PPI) with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, is capable of reaching a maximum brightness of 600 nits and has a sensor that adjusts the brightness level according to the ambient light. The screen is protected by a highly resistant tempered glass that prevents damage to the screen. It has a 2.5D curvature, which makes it feel much more premium.

The 190 mAh battery of this Smart Band 8 can provide about 16 days of autonomy with a single full charge of one hour, with its magnetic charger. Of course, if we activate the Always on display (AOD) mode, the autonomy will drop to 6 days. It is an industry standard and today few manufacturers dare to achieve less autonomy than the Mi Band.

It integrates a vibration engine that alerts us if we have activated notifications or incoming calls from certain applications. We also have Bluetooth 5.1 technology, so you can connect other compatible sports equipment, such as straps, in addition to your smartphone, for a more complete record of your vital signs during training.
